Singer/songwriter Jewel stopped by CMT’s new late night program “The Josh Wolf Show,” which is executively produced by Chelsea Handler, and paid tribute to one of the most notorious boy bands of all time, the Backstreet Boys.
Decked out in one of the group’s signature looks (head-to-toe white outfits,) the musician and host Josh Wolf jammed with the studio band to one of BSB’s biggest hits “I Want It That Way” and almost made it though the performance without laughing.
It’s great to see Wolf featured in his own show and he is a terrific A. J. McLean to Jewel’s Brian Littrell. However, we suggest that he gets more comfortable at making love to the camera if he is going to pursue a professional career in being part of a boy band.

It’s interesting that Jewel would choose “I Want It That Way,” a tune that came out in 1999 (the same year that her 1998 record Spirit would have been in its promotional cycle with singles like “Hands” and “Down So Long,”) as her guilty pleasure song to perform on “The Josh Wolf Show.”
When BSB’s Millennium debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart on June 5, 1999, Spirit was still on the countdown at No. 83. In total, Jewel’s album would spend 55 weeks on the chart with company like Ricky Martin, TLC, Shania Twain, Snoop Dogg and Jimmy Buffett.
Is it possible that hearing “I Want It That Way” rekindles some good memories for Jewel?
