Adele releases her inner Spice Girl in Amsterdam

Next year marks the 20th anniversary of the invigorating Spice Girls tune “Spice Up Your Life” and while in Amsterdam on her world tour, Adele reminded us why we still love to dance and sing along to this track today.

‘90s pop icon Emma Bunton (also known as Baby Spice) retweeted the above clip featuring a very happy Adele having fun with the crowd at the Ziggo Dome and reacting to the fans’ encouraging chants, saying with a smile, “Oh stop it, I’m not a Spice Girl.”

Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice) also applauded the English songbird for her throwback performance on Twitter with a bouquet of emoticons and Geri Horner {Ginger Spice) sent an encouraging, “Go @Adele,” message to the singer.

Adele has never been shy about her love for the five-piece girl group.

In January, the musician performed the smash single “Wannabe” during an episode of “The Late Late Show with James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke” and also told Vogue about why the band is important to her.

“Seeing them coming from a humble background—there was hope in it,” Adele said. “It was really a massive part of my life when the whole Girl Power thing happened.”

Later this month, the singer will head to France and Belgium before finally landing in North America in July.

Canadian tour dates include Vancouver (July 20 and 21,) Montreal (September 30 and October 1,) and Toronto (October 3, 4, 6 and 7.)
