Janet Jackson knows how to grab your attention and keep it.
In the opening scenes of the pop music icon’s latest music video for “No Sleeep,” she wastes no time in reminding you where she comes from.
The camera pushes in through a glass window, which someone has the written word “Plush”* on in the condensation, and into a house on a rainy evening to reveal Jackson performing her new track.
(*”Plush:” Since Jackson has now used “Plush” in a more prominent way, could it mean that it’s a clue to her album title? Are we any closer to solving what #ConversationsInACafe means? Stay tuned.)
Noticeably present in the “No Sleeep” music video are family photos of the Jackson family, including, father Joseph “Joe” Jackson and baby pictures of Janet, displayed through a projector onto one of the walls of the beige and concrete house.
Jackson debuted the video on Twitter only two hours ago and at press time, it has 16,012 views.
I hope u enjoy watching this as much as we enjoyed making it. #NoSL333P @JColeNC https://t.co/1sGGQxlhIs
